Alocasia Frydek (Alocasia micholitziana ‘Frydek’) is a lush, velvety showpiece with dramatic flair. Native to the Philippines, this striking plant features arrowhead-shaped, deep green leaves with bold white veins and a soft, velour texture that practically begs to be touched (but don’t overdo it). It’s a statement-maker for any space—moody, elegant, and just a little bit extra.

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much sun will scorch the leaves, too little and it starts sulking.

• Water: Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy. Let the top inch dry out before watering again.

• Humidity: Loves high humidity. Give it a steamy bathroom or a humidifier, and it’ll reward you.

• Pet-Friendly: Toxic if ingested—definitely not for nibblers.

Interesting Fact: Alocasia Frydek has a bit of a diva reputation due to its sensitivity to overwatering and drafts—but once you find its rhythm, it’ll thrive like a jungle monarch.
